The exhibition offers an exceptional opportunity to see an important selection of works from the Prado displayed for the first time alongside the collection of armour belonging to Patrimonio Nacional. This is an unprecedented concept for an exhibition and one that will establish a direct comparison between the court portraits painted by leading masters such as Titian and Rubens and the armour worn by Spanish monarchs that symbolised their power at the height of that monarchy's splendour.

http://www.art-of-the-day.info/a05857-the-art-of-power-the-royal-armoury-and-the-court-portrait.html

Art of the day http://www.art-of-the-day.info

Having put a UFO in the sky over Rio, Peter Coffin has now landed at Crédac for a solo show featuring installations, photographs, videos, sound pieces and sculptures. In an extension of his usual work, Coffin has carried on with his investigations through different types of phenomena (natural, optical, etc.), offering visitors new ways of seeing and understanding such manifestations, and new means for questioning the subjectivity of science.

http://www.art-of-the-day.info/a05852-peter-coffin-qualunque-light.html

Art of the day http://www.art-of-the-day.info

The legendary "Le Mouvement" exhibition was held in the Galerie Denise René in Paris from 6 to 30 April 1955. It postulated "Colour–Light–Motion–Time" as the basic principles for the further development of kinetic sculpture. The first section of the exhibition in the Museum Tinguely is devoted to presenting as comprehensive a reconstruction of this celebrated show as possible. Thanks to the loan of outstanding works from locations as varied as Venezuela, New York, Paris and Zurich, the goal could be achieved.

http://www.art-of-the-day.info/a05849-le-mouvement-from-cinema-to-kinetics.html

Art of the day http://www.art-of-the-day.info
