Simultaneously to Asian Art in Brussels and Brussels Ancient Art Fairs, Artconnoisseurs organizes a fascinating program of 25 lectures dedicated to Asian Art, Ancient Art and Archaeology.


Held at the MIM, the Musical Instruments Museum, one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings in Brussels and at the prestigious Cercle de Lorraine Business Club, most of the lectures will be given in english by respected experts, scholars, curators, collectors, dealers coming from Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, USA... on hot topics about Egyptian, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Greek, Roman, as well as Tibetan and Near Eastern art.


ArtConnoisseurs will receive major names in the field like Dr. Sidney Goldstein, the ancient glass specialist (former curator/director at Corning Museum of Glass and at Saint Louis Museum),  the world famous scholar of Indian Art, Dr. Pratapaditya Pal, (Former Curator of Boston Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art…), Dr. Claire Derriks, Egyptologist, President of International Committee for Egyptology (CIPEG) of the International Council of Museums,) Dr. Mark Merrony, Director of the Musée d’Art Classique de Mougins and Editor-in-Chief of Minerva Magazine and David Pritzker, Researcher on Himalayan Art and Exhibitions Curator of the Rubin Museum, New York who will be among many others scholars from Belgium and abroad.


In addition, within walking distance from the lectures, the Antiquities and Asian Art fairs will welcome around 40 cutting edge dealers in the surrounding galleries of the Sablon, the traditional neighborhood for antiques and art galleries. You will find also two exhibitions close to the Sablon, Rue des Minimes (number 15 and 48) : L’Egypte dessinée, a voyage between art and time with drawings sketched by 19th century European travellers to Egypt and original drawings of the same sites made by 21st century Belgian architect Bruno Cassiers, and Heaven on Earth, a series of oil paintings made by the Singaporean born painter Olga Polunin.
