For its third eition, the Salon du Collectionneur the Collectors'Fair, will take place for the first time under the nave of the Grand Palai. Launched in 2003, the Salon is organised by the French Antique Dealers Association, the Syndicat des Antiquaires, SNA, every other year, alternatively with the prestigious Biennale des Antiquaires.
A cultural and pedagogical dimension
Since its inception, four years ago, the Fair’s originality has lied in its cultural and pedagogical dimension. Visitors do not come to the Salon des Collectioneurs merely for aesthetic pleasure, or to buy a rare object. For the general public, it is a unique opportunity to acquire new insights into the history of art, and for connoisseurs, to refine their judgement.
International galleries
The 124 international galleries selected by the Syndicat des Antiquaires will be organised in specialised sections : Jewels-silverware; furniture-objects of art-historic-memorabilia-stamps; Asia-archeology-primitive arts. Among them, a number of emblemanic figures of the trade and 46 newcomers
Conferences and temporary exhibitions
An array of conferences, chaired by experts and historians, and thematic exhibitions will enhance the dynamism of the event
Grands Ateliers de France, a network of state-of -the-art crafstmen in the field of restoration and heritage will demonstrate their savoir-faire.
Citroën will offer a view of its collection, built over the years, under the angle of a passion for cars.
Neuflize Vie will show a selection of its important collection of photographies
A Journey through contemporary sculptures, too often neglected in Fairs, will take place under the mezzanines
