In what way does the fashion illustration clarify and express our concept of beauty? In order to answer this question, numerous photographs of silhouettes from collections from the national archives are put side by side with creations by Russianand French contemporary illustrators such as Vladimir Fiodkis, Quentin Bertoux and Pierre Gayte.
