Masterpieces from Dresden: Mantegna and Dürer to Rubens and Canaletto

Last August the Elbe river floded the Zwinger palace in Dresden, which hosts the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister, one of the largest collections of paintings by old masters. Four thousand works ahd been moved urgently. In order to salute the reopening of the German museum, the Royal Academy presents sme fifty pieces, including works by Mantegna, Tiziano, Dürer, Rubens, Poussin and Canaletto.
