Fernand Léger
From february 17 to may 18 2003
Tapestries, carpets, textiles
Among the many forms of art the painter flirted with, tapestry only atracted him towards the end of his life. It was in 1952 that he did his first piece, Nature morte à l'étoile polychrome. It is exhibited for the first time in France, surrounded by other major pieces such as the illustration of a poem of Paul Eluard's, Liberté.
