Illuminating the Renaissance, the triumph of flemish manuscript painting in Europe

From november 29 2003 to february 22 2004
Ancient art
This exhibit gives the royal role to Flemish illumination during the Renaissance. Nearly 140 painted manuscripts, done between 1470 and 1560, recently discovered and consequently rarely exhibited, show the variety and richness of this art form that is often unknown.
