The "ephemeral paintings" of the Thar desert, at the North-East of Rajasthan, are drawings traced with lime by women on walls and grounds to invite the good deeds of the gods and scare away the bad spirits. By photographing them, Hans Silvester adds an aesthetic and artistic value to these symbols. |
