History
A donation from the Byzantine emperor John VPaléologue to the captain from Genoa, Leonardo Montaldo in the XIVth century, the Mandylion -the print of Christ's face left on a cloth before the Passion -will be put together for this exhibit with the 2 parts painted in 945 for its transfer to Constantinople, and kept in the Monastery of Saint Catherine of Sinaï in Egypt. Some 40 objects accompany these re-encounters.
