Some 80 works from the Dutch artist's beginnings have been brought together. They are imbued with the North-South relationship typical of that period in which he found his subjects in the Northern and the Southern regions. Along his pilgrimages, Van Dongen evolved from drawing to painting, using a richer and more colorful palette, thus creating a teeming and fiery universe. |
