Stubbs and the horse

From november 14 2004 to february 6 2005

The exhibit focuses on the central theme of Stubb's work -refined portraits of race horse to spectacular scenes of horses attacked by lions in the wild -and celebrates the artist that many consider as the greatest horse painter in the history of art. Many of his paintings of horses show a classic, expressive and heroic beauty previously reserved for the human figure.
