The exhibition deals with observation and the fact of being observed, glamor and decadence, asw ell as with myths and masks...With a glance towards Oscar Wilde's novel The portrait of Dorian Gray, Ruud van der Peijl shows the reality behind certain illusions of our time. Portrait of the state is a gesamtkunstwerk : a work that creates a total environment.
