This retrospective of Jacoba van Heemskerck's work allows us to discover an artist who made an important contribution to the development of Dutch modern art at the beginning of the XXth century. She turned towards abstract art after trying Luminism and Cubism. Nevertheless, research carried out over the last 3 years shows that her paintigns and drawings were simply a prelude to the painted glass she created at the end of her life. Some of these were previously unknown and a great number of them were restaured for this exhibit.
