| Beuys created, between 1947 and 1964, hundreds of works on paper that are direct reminiscences of Rodin's last drawings and water colors. While Rodin, contrary to Beuys, was fascinated by the feminine body as an object of desire, both artists considered women to be the symbol itself of elemntary natural forces of transformation. This presentation, with over one hundred works on paper and some fifty major sculptures, sheds new light on the relation between Rodin and Beuys. |
