Jacques-Louis David: Empire to exile

From june 5 to september 5 2005

The exhibit explores the various transformations undergone by Jacques-Louis David's work during the French revolution. Oranganized in 6 sections, 26 paintings and 22 works of art on paper trace the evolution of his work since 1794 to his death in exile in 1825. Nearly half of the works exhibited have never been shown before in America.
