The exhibition is the first retrospective of works from the period in Gauguin's career, from 1875 to 1887,in which he began to show the color, technique and composition that distinguish his work. It confirms the importance of the young artist as an impressionist painter, as well as his stature as the best sculptor in the group, with the exception of Degas. |
