In conflict with Authority, artists Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka attacked taboos such as sexuality and power, homosexual eroticism, adolescence and the war of sexes, with untiring intellectual, sensorial and visual energy. The exhibit presents over 200 master pieces, paintings and drawingsd. They outline an image of Austrian art at the beginning of the XXth century, that goes well beyond the Romanticism of the end of the century in its flawless modernity, with a potential for explosion that it has kept to this day. |
