| Over one hundred sculptures, mainly by Rodin but by Brancusi, Giacometti, Louise Bourgeois and up to Didier Vermeiren and Richard Wentworth as well, put forward the quetion of the support of the work of art, the intermeidary between the gorund and the work of art, contributing to give it a reason for being. The pedestal becomes an integral part of the work and will even replace the sculpture, thus putting a death sentence to the traditional pedestal. |
