Over time and across cultures, manipulation of the body have occurred in a continuing evolution of the concept of beauty, through subtle visual adjustments of proportion. Costumes on display range from 16th to 20th century and are accompanied with paintings, prints, and drawings by Daumier, Rowlandson, and Vernet. |
