In the early 1850s, Benjamin Brecknell Turner (1815–1894) photographed picturesque English scenes: ruined abbeys and castles, barns and cottages, etc. Around 40 large-format photographs are drawn almost entirely from a magnificent album assembled by Turner and now in the V & A Museum, London. |
