Inspired by the huge range and splendour of the American landscape, artists such as Thomas Cole, Albert Bierstadt and Frederic Edwin Church created many paintings on this theme. From the Hudson River Valley to the Rocky Pountains, 90 paintings highlight the artists's fascination for the natural wonders of America.
