Included in a program of events, in celebration of the third centenial of the foundation of the Monte de Piedad (the state-owned pawn shop)in Madrid, an exhibit in three sections presents art at the court of the first Bourbon King, Philip V (1700-1746). While the Prado keeps some sixty paintings done by French, Italian or Spanish artists, the Palacio Real and the Casa de las Alhajas host respectively the decorative arts and architecture. |
